Well just take a situation with man doing his deal of buying onion from different vendors.
>Man goes to buy onion from local market where the price is quoted as 10 Rs per kg.
>Now same man goes to another vendor of local market where he is being provided same quality of onion for 9 Rs per kg if he buys in a lot of 5Kg's.
>Suddenly there is local banner saying 6 Rs per Kg of onion available in bulk if and only 50 Kg of Onion is purchased.
Quality of onion is same in all three situations.
So now man goes into thinking mode of 3 different situations:
1. Buy it for 10 Rs/Kg
2. Buy it for 9 Rs/Kg but atleast 5 Kg's.
3. Buy it for 6 Rs/Kg but in bulk of 50 Kg's.
Now after getting confused ,the man picks up the choice number 3 considering quality is same as first 2 and he needs to fill his future needs which option number 3 satisfies him.Going by pure mathematics he takes up option 3 and buys a smile on his face thinking he got a steal.
Question - But why did that super market sold same quality of onions in cheap rate in bulk?
Answer - Well the super market got a supply of onions with a rate of onion is way way lower than that found in local market for a kg when ordered it in bulk.So it sells it less amount and makes money for itself.
And every one knows how orders in bulk can fetch a decent price saving just like the man with 50 kg's of onion got.
So why not take this case as Man being Indigo and Super Market as CAE:
Indigo gets pilots in bulk at cheap rate.
CAE gets pilots in bulk for its program which brings total cost of program for them lower than local market ( Individual Pilot's Training cost ).
Both does a nice deal in bulks and keep's the ever smiling face of biz intact with on time performance.
Now throw commissions in the offer and its get more sweeter for Indigo to take more pilots in bulk.
Having LOI is way better security than having none while going for rating.
But will Indigo just merely handover LOI after this Cadet program is over for a student considering how small details are being minutely held responsible in its on going CAE 320 induction program.
Ohh one more thing there are few 320 Rated rejected pilots with LOI of Indigo from 2008 season.
There will be many takers for schemes that seems to have some decent big name brand involve in it but when it comes to getting a flying even a donkey will start running like a derby horse when that donkey gets into the scheme which turns him into a monkey.
