I see a new tower is being built by the side of the existing ground radar tower. I assume this will replace the existing ground radar.
I thought the location of the ground radar which predates much of the airports expansion had dead zones with no coverage, which was why the airport invested in multi-location radar a few years ago. I think it was mentioned here that this original replacement radar was never commissioned due to problems with the supplier. Can anyone confirm my posts as being correct?
