One other thing SB. If you're using the GUI "flying files" copy mode, can you try a robocopy ? (I'd suggest probably with the restartable mode flag and tweaking the retry and wait values).
Not that it's likely to make any difference if there are network issues at play, but it is a more robust mechanism.
