I have an ipad 2 (3G) with Air Nav Pro and it works fine in my aircraft. Just pay the extra £100 and get the 3G version. Less kit to clutter up the cockpit with.
I have bought a suction cup type mounting for the ipad that cost £17.50, it works fine in the aircraft and also in my car. I use NAVMII in the car.

£2.99 for the UK database and the same for France. Just used it touring the vineyards of the Loire Valley.
Who needs a TomTom now?
