Recency in the US with TCCA license

Hi guys,

I hold a Canadian CPL with Multi-IFR, my recency lapsed by the time I managed to pass the DGCA exams. I planned on going back to Canada for my recency, but for some strange reason my visa was refused twice. Now I plan on going to the U.S as I already have a B1/B2 which they say is sufficient for recency. I contacted various schools and I keep getting conflicting answers and so decided to ask here.

1. Will the DGCA accept recency in the U.S with a license converted from Canada
2. Do I need a TSA clearence
3. I have 30hrs on a PA-34. Is it ok to do my recency on the duchees.
4. How long does the conversion normally take. I've heard answers from 1 week to 4 months.

I've done my research but could you guys suggest some good schools in the U.S for recency.

thanks in advance.
