Hi everybody! Wow, just read this. These guys above must have nothing better to do than bash other people. I am usually a lurker but I just finished the A-320 at Aerostar on a recommendation from three other mates that did their training there. (Understand that I have always been a Boeing kinda of guy, so to get an Airbus rating was almost blasphemy!)These guys are great! Awesome instructors and great facilities, but more importantly great people! Their team went out of the way to make sure I went home with a brand new A-320 type rating in my pocket. The virtual learning program I got is the same program that runs the simulator. I was able to practice to my heart's content to have everything just right when I showed up. (systems, flows, limitations, ils's, go-around's, single engine, etc) all flown on my computer so that when I got there it was more a validation of what I had learned as opposed to the boring power point presentation I have suffered through on my other type rating courses. (Best of all I get to use this sim software for a year to stay current and practice). None of the proverbial drink from the firehose training I have had before. Because of this I was able to show up prepared and ready for the checkride. I could call before and still can after to ask any question about the Airbus. They even let me come a week early and observe ground school and simulator work with the permission of the two other trainees in a class of ten people before me. It was great plus I now have made some new friends who love aviation as much as me and as we all know it's alot about who you know when it comes to getting a great job. After reading my own words it sounds a little rah-rah, but hey I am just one pilot who loved it. As with everything in life, ask around, get testimonials from them that other pilots wrote, ask lots of questions, make your decisions based on facts. It's your future and your hard earned cash.
Cheers!
