I recall once drinking at The Cherry Tree and then The Railway Arms after a hard day in the ops room . . my colleague left me at the station just up the road where I merrily boarded the train home towards the metropolis in the daylight . . . only to awake to find myself facing the other way somewhere godforsaken in the darkness . .
