This is a Rumour Network after all, but i hear that they plan another few command courses in Nov/Dec/Jan then that's it. No more expansion and the numbers should be sufficient. Might be a long wait to command if you're not on the list.
Don't overlook retirements. Don't believe planning figures. We were originally going to be doing 30-odd commands this year, then 60, then about 75. So far this year there have been 118 successful Airbus promotions. There are also failures and withdrawals (an unspecified number). So, 97 on the list is not a huge number and it could well be down to 0 within a year. Then what? Given the recent obsession with CTC cadets, we ARE running out of promotable FOs. We HAVE run out of type-rated, experienced and employable candidates via Parc. Expect to see a change in the recruitment policy.
