In regards to the hotel, it is rumoured to be replacing the old NATS college building. It even has a ready made car park and is a very short walk from the terminal building - i'm sure if it does get the go-ahead (i think it should) it will get a covered walk-way or at least a pedestrian side-walk!! I just hope they select the right brand: 150-200 bed Novotel or Best western rather than Radisson or Mariott.
The viability of the hotel is not just based just on scheduled flights, but the likelihood of diversion traffic which Bournemouth sees a significant amount of - especially for crew needing a night.
