As per DGCA records, Duchess is still registered but the C of A has expired on 18/02/2008. This is of BE76 owned by Govt of Bihar, the only Duchess on record.
If the aircraft make/model itself is registered, but the Cert of Airworthiness of a particular aircraft has lapsed, doesnt it stand to reason that you can be issued licences based on tests carried our overseas on an acft which has a current and valid CoA in its country of operation. A lapsed CoA only means that that particular ACFT is not fit to fly. It does not prevent a CPL holder with BE76 endorsement to fly the aircraft in future when the CoA is renewed, or indeed if someone acquires another BE76 with a valid CoA.
Since candidates holding foreign licences for renewals/endorsements do not require to fly the BE76 in India, what is preventing DGCA from issuing the rating?
