I guess it could be argued that Maritime started to disappear in 1969 when Coastal Command was disbanded, making it a part of Bummer, sorry Strike Command was really the beginning of the end. We were certainly taken over and not amalgamated. As soon as the bomber crowd realised we were about to get a four engined jet with a bomb bay they suddenly took notice.
So many great maritime squadrons and not a single one left, almost unbelievable!
