CAR notification released by DGCA on 1st June, 2010 (SECTION 3, AIR TRANSPORT SERIES ‘C’, PART III, ISSUE II) prohibits all single engine aircraft ferrying patients.
Quote from CAR Sec 3 Ser C Part III:
2.3 Operations with single engine aeroplanes shall be conducted only on domestic
sectors except for medical evacuation flights.....
9.2 .....However, a single engine aircraft will not be allowed to operate to
international destinations except for medical evacuation flights.
Doesn't seem like a violation, does it? If anything, it allows single engine airplanes to operate to international destinations in case of a medical evacuation.
