I do not care for the names nor the great authors you quote, even thought you might quote it to your friends and relatives not involved in aviation, and they may think you are the original testpilot on the columbia, but alas....
I have lately done some flying in the States, funny thing this side is that most pilots shut their pieholes and do what they get paid to do, no matter if he flies a 152 or a G5, they are humble, friendly, helpfull, nice people to be around, they work their asses off, fly 1900 freighters single crew, from 40 degrees to minus 40, worse weather than you will ever see, and a very important fact, they earn on average $3000 a month, for a captain around 5000 hrs.
