Himalaya,

Qatar Airways were involved in the AeroNepal project which was a joint venture between Qatar Airways and a consortium of Nepali Businessmen. That was at the time when the Nepali government was considering ditching Royal Nepal and finding another carier to take its place as National Carier of Nepal.

The project never went through for several reasons, since then there have been attempted privatisations of Royal Nepal and I believe QR were asked to have a look at buying a stake in Royal Nepal but again nothing happened.

In my opinion QR should stay out of buying into Royal Nepal because of the obvious security reasons and the unstable situation in Nepal. QR could also channel all African, European and Middle Eastern traffic to KTM through DOH and giving a boost to Royal Nepal would mean QR would have to sacrifice some of their traffic on the all important KTM route. If QR wants to get the SE Asian - KTM traffice they can always excercise their 5th freedom rights which will allow QR to fly KTM-KUL.

A300Man isn't Kenoco a guy? you could work out who he is from the username.
