I think the goodbye, requiem mass, is specifically from the US Army Aviation Branch, who made the Huey famous (per the opening post).

USAF still flies TH-1H (some variation of the UH-1N?) and the Marines will be flying the UH-1Y (Huey after some plastic surgery) for a while longer.

Last flew a Huey in 1982. Great helicopter.
