Sorry, Flex, but the old mil-specs required approx 4 pounds per gee. The Viper approximates that very well due to the computers. Older jets had springs, dashpots, bobweights and bellows to "stiffen" the stick.
gums is right and I stand corrected! I am not sure which missing brain cell prompted me to say aft stickforce of one lbf/g for the F/A-18. I am far removed from those days. On reflection I think it was closer to 6 lbf.
If you knew where I was coming from, you would understand my extreme embarrassment!
