You'll have to check the actual terms and conditions with which the ASIC was issued. Most passes have the rider that you must have a valid reason to be airside with your ASIC/security pass. I don't think helping someone collect their bags would constitute a valid reason to be exercising the privileges of your ASIC.
If they are coming from a domestic flight, it may be different.
