"I had a silly doubt if anyone could clear it
For the issue of DGCA CPL - is it necessary to have the RTR in hand? If we are running out of recency, have all exams and RT cleared but these WPC morons take a lot of time in sending the RTR license, then?"
It should be fine cooolboy, just let them know the license number as it appears in the result and the validity applied for.
You just need to make sure that you submit the original RTR license in due time.

As for the DGCA processing,

I finally submitted my papers on the 12th. Hope all goes well. Met like hundreds of stranded pilots outside the DGCA. Seems like it is a good idea to keep visiting them as often as possible.
Some got their licenses issued in about two months. So that is an encouraging sign.

For those of you worried about the DGCA's new approved aircraft list. BEWARE.
they are actually not accepting the GFT and the required 250, 120 NM XCs done on the BE76 and 152. That is real bad, I know. Quite a few pilots I met were in trouble cause of that change in policies, (A few friends of mine included)

So anyone there training on these particular aircrafts, just make sure you dont do any requirement flights on these. ( any other regular flights are ok )

BTW.. is anyone aware about the actual checks that the DGCA does for the issue for our CPLs?
I inquired for the waiting periods for the issue and was given an excuse that they would need to check my SSC, HSC documents, my DGCA exam results and the RTR and each and every other document from my school and the flight hours- so it takes a few months time.

Question is- If they need to waste time checking all these things, why have they asked me to submit all the originals and verification letters too?

Its such a waste of time if the process has to be repeated by both of us.

No wonder they have a backlog from January onwards.
