Do you mean:

TAS = IAS + [(IAS X 2/100) X (DA/1000)]

- where DA is in feet, and IAS/TAS are in your chosen unit.

?

At my first look, I misread it as:
TAS = (IAS + 2/100) X IAS X (DA/1000)
That's why you sometimes need to use two types of brackets, to avoid ambiguity.
