The drugs were found in his blood, which could mean he legally smoked a spliff in Amsterdam, not UAE months past.They legally serve booze in the Burj as well
No matter, if he did get a beating, then bruises would still be there. Everyone deserves justice, no matter how much of a muppet they may have been. Remember Police in the UAE are not all locals, think Yemenis, Pakistanis etc...
