An-2 at Sherburn today

What a beautiful aircraft! (in an ugly sort of way).

D-FKMA of Aero Troika was, I believe, transporting the judges to an Aerobatic competition.

What's the story with this a/c? Where's it based? Is it available to rent for charter or training? Has anybody flown one? What are they like? What are the stall speeds etc. - it seemed to lift off at about 35 knots, but because of the size it was hard to tell really.

Never seen one 'in the flesh' before. You get no idea of the scale from photos. This must have been the only time I've been near an airfield without a camera in years! Typical.

By the way, the aero competition continues at EGCJ tomorrow if anyone's interested. There were about 25 assorted Pitts, Slingsbys, Yaks, CAP 10's etc. there today with more expected tomorrow.
