It seems a certainty that the ramp will have to be extended. With 3 Baby 737/300 aircraft to night stop along with the BMI Airbus, 2 Flybe Emb, 7 Dash, a Let 410 and maybe private stuff there will be no room at the inn. Guessing the apron used at the old terminal will be strong enough if its tarted up a bit and the fence moved.
Coaching to remote stands is very common at most airports so I dont really see an issue, although I understand that there is only one coach in operation at the moment.
I am keen to hear how this news will affect staffing. Will the airport require more ATC controllers? Ops? Coach drivers? Security? Customs? HMI? Obviously the handlers and Baby themselves will need to up the ante.
I guess also that there will have to be some sort of international arrivals route to keep punters separated for border checks.
