Called in at the terminal today (Sunday) at 6:30 this morning for what is the start of the half term break for many schools. It was just like the old days with a queue of traffic all the way down to the bridge that crosses the A505.
Despite the notices and the signage on the side of the traffic enforcement van there were many passengers getting out on the roundabout either by jumping out when the traffic lights were on red or more blatantly by parking in the bus lane while they retrieved their luggage. Some cars parked up right in front of the camera van so it was easy pickings. If the camera only caught 50% it was still making around £1000 an hour at that busy time in the morning.
I also had a look at the site of the former Britannia Ops building located by stand 10. It doesn’t seem big enough to put an aircraft stand on it and suspect it will just remain as a piece of wasteland like the site of the former flying club.
