What is the road towards CPL like?

If you study hard and dedicate yourself into it then you can make it easily, if not then you will struggle badly. its not a degree but its not a walk in a park

Is it a rewarding career?

Yes its rewarding, you will make good money if you are flying a shiny jet, if not then its just bread. You should come to this career if you really love aviation, if you are coming for the money, lifestyle or just thinking its 'cool' to be a pilot then dont show your head cause you wont like it till a certain age. So ask yourself if you really want to get into it and that you will love aviation till the end....

Aviation is growing in India but the situation for new CPL holders are not that great. The only proper job you can do with a CPL is flying aeroplanes. So if you not sitting inside the cockpit wearing a cap and golden bars, then a CPL is virtually worthless. Considering the current state in India I would advise you to get a degree in a non aviation related field, preferably in IT and finance. Because it will be a big backup to you. After you end with degree then go for CPL if the situation gets up well, I know its really hard to hang up for 3 to 4 years to get the degree and putting your aviation dream aside but you need to face the reality then you will realize.

And as far as Flight schools are concerned, I wont recommend you any schools in India except IGRUA and the placements you see in carver school was back in the boom days, its not just carver flight school, almost everyone with a CPL were hired. No flight school in India has dealings with airlines to place students except IGRUA where few gets into air India every year. SO dont get lured by these flight school. If you want to do flying go learn it in USA, its cheap and high quality.

so is it the right time to start up a career as a pilot?
NO.
its good to start when you have the money and a good backup plan.

if you got more question feel free to mail me.
