I remember listening to recordings of the cabin annoucements when the Qantas A380 engine blew. The captain could be heard very clearly, totally unlike other in-flight recordings. This must be because the plane is so much quieter inside.
Well, it will be quieter with one of the "noisemakers" switched off I expect.....
