F/E offered jobs on L382
In a memo out this week, ACL have offered their flight engineers and F/O,s positions on the Herc which is just come on to the Irish reg.
This is good news for those on the 727 and A300 but the deal is that they will retain their salary for 3 months then go onto the much reduced salary for the "albert". There is no training bond and the base will be at Stansted.
I know there arent a heap of jobs out there for F/E,s but you would think after all their loyalty over the years, ACL might have let them keep their current pay scale and as for the bond.....well an L382 type on yer ticket doesnt open up a bolt hole for you to run to.
The latest word on the street is that ACL are to retain 2 or 3 727,s mainly for horse charters and standby work, the three A300B4F,s on the French Air Post contract, 2 L382,s (possibly more to come) and just a maybe........EI-SAF and EI-DHL A300B4F's which may or may not go to E.A.T.
Hope you contract guys can find some work as I know it can be a bit soul destroying when you are looking. Mind you the F/E position was supposed to be a dead job years ago, yet there are still plenty about. Still loads of DC10 L1011 727 707 747 DC8
DC6 !!!! and if you are very lucky ......the pointed supersonic bird.
Dont despair.......all that experience has to count for something.
Good Luck
