Since when did the R.A.F. start worrying about things like this? Their not paying for it anyway, its coming from Capital Spending! You'd think Gordon Brown was still in charge or something. I can just imagine the scene in 1943 at R.A.F. Scampton and Wing Commander Gibson saying to the Station Commander;
Really sir, are you sure there isn't anything smaller and cheaper than these Bloody Great Lancasters? Haven't the Navy got something smaller that can do the job just as well?
Anyway, it'll all be over by Christmas!
