The CJI is designated by EASA as a single-pilot, high performance aeroplane. To commence a type rating course on such an aeroplane you will need at least 200 hours total flight time, including at least 70 hours as PIC, and to have passed either the ATPL exams or to hold a certificate of successful completion of an approved pre-entry course. This is likely to change under EASA when the requirements for individual HPA type ratings will be determined by an Operational Evaluation Board
