Stick to your guns on this one cos you've come too far now and have to see it through but when it's sorted, resign from BALPA en masse and save yourselves some dosh, all join the RMT or something, vote them in as your collective baragainer and then get down to business and see how real unions work. BALPA's nothing more than an ever so nice talking shop cos the pilots they represent are too nice when it comes to negotiating.
