Like Sterling, the guys and gals at the chalk face are excellent but the (non-aviation) directors have likely mis-managed FAST as well.
Do not pay up front ... and, if you're in a position to do your PPL in a short time frame, then you should be OK. You wouldn't want to be part way through and be left in the lurch of trying to find another school to transfer your training.
You might also want to consider what you will after you have your PPL(H) as presumably you'd want to self fly hire? I recommend you get a car!
