I remember the scuttlebutt going around that the demo crew were "blown outta water" by Air Niugini F28 ops into Hagen and Goroka and that the 146 couldnt do what the Fokker did. True or not?
Having flown both I can confirm that without any hesitation. The F28 was God's gift to PNG aviators - the 146 was a POS.
