I'm impressed by any man that can get back CPL/ME/IFR in 18 months.

Fairly accurate figures for UK are

CPL - GBP 45K
IFR - GBP 30K+ (could easily be increased significantly)
ME - GBP 5K (bare minimum type rating costs)
