Hi dream7879,
I did my Ground school studies at EPTA, although as part of one of the university degree courses they offer and I can honestly say I found them to be very good. The instructors are all very knowledgable and very willing to go out of there way to assist you. I personally struggled with GNAV and our GNAV instructor spent several evenings going over things with myself and a few others who were struggling, even if it meant there was only one person that he was teaching, he would often stay behind till gone 6 o clock (our lessons finished around 4 and the modular lessons around 5).
I haven't yet started my flying as I'm currently finishing my third year of the university degree part before I go onto the flying so can't really comment on that aspect.
In regards to accomodation, there is a lot of accomodation very close to the airport, we had someone in our class who didn't drive and she stayed opposite The Curlew pub which is about a 10-15 minute walk around to EPTA, slightly shorter to BCFT. Aslo around by Parley Cross there is a lot of accomdation available, again that is slightly further walking or cycling, but is do-able. There is a bus service, I can't remember which number, but it runs from Bournemouth Town Centre out to one of the villages outside of Bournemouth, but it stops at Parley Cross so that is another option if you can't find accomodation within walking or cycling distance. I know at EPTA/Cabair they have an accomodation list and I'm pretty sure they have a similar thing at BCFT, so it would be worth speaking to the school you decide to go with about that.
Also forgot to mention, when it comes to flying, BCFT's aircraft are located right next to the school, which has access right out onto there 'apron' if you like, whereas the EPTA building is slightly further away and its aircraft are kept on the other side of the airport at Aviation Park East, where as the EPTA building is Aviation Park West...that might be something to consider also.
Hope that helps,
9287Excellent.
