True about the Bearcat wing - in fact there was a small explosive charge at the "structural fuse", cross-connected so if one side broke, the other would immediately be blown off.
However, after an accident (possibly Blue Angels?) they decided this wasn't so hot an idea, and reworked the wings to remove the "feature".
