Isn't it strange that Typhoons were cold war platforms that would never be needed in anger just a few months ago
How short our memories are
And how ironic that the only aircraft fleet sufficiently large to monitor a NFZ for 10 years [plus] non-stop (and sometimes two NFZ at the same time during that period!), then continue through TELIC for another 5 years or so was the TGRF. Yes the Jag/SHAR/GR5-7 did a bit but they couldn't manage it without a break. Will we ever learn ....?
[not forgetting the support of the Victor / VC10 and Tri* fleets as well of course
