I have looked at the performance figures for LDY and they are quite restrictive. Runway 26 dry is OK but if it's wet, or using runway 08 it could well require a tech stop to pick up fuel on the way. This is allowing for the new runway length. That is unless there is less than 150 pax on board. this is based on all pax being adult, so if there are lots of children it does help. You can't bank on this, so for planning purposes you have to work on adult figures, so I am surprised they are prepared to offer it as there will definately be tech stops on some of them. Maybe overall it's stil worth the extra cost and hassel.
