Sixty-two percent for the Australians sounds about correct. In other words, being based, you will be liable for %16.5 (HK) + state income taxes, which undoubtedly will force many crew out of CX for local jobs. Add to that the job security that comes with real labour laws, union membership, state healthcare, etc., and you have ZERO reason to come to CX in any flying capacity.
With housing not an option going forward for new-joiners, I do believe CX have really outdone themselves here in a way they cannot comprehend yet.
