The day starts with coffee & biscuits (be quick as jammy dodgers go v.fast).

Informal introduction to company. Explanation of fleet opportunities and current basing policy. (The plan is that you will complete a basing-bid form at this stage - don't tactically bid, bid for what you actually want, there is a good chance that if you are successful then you will get it or at least be close.)

The tests are unfortuately very BA like, although perhaps not assesed the same way (I didn't get past tests with BA)

Verbal reasoning (as BA)
Maths (as BA)
Psychometric (as BA)

2 group exerises (no lego)

Exercise 1 - problem solving (non aviation related)

Exercise 2 - You are each members of a company somewhere down the chain of command.
The exercise is related to how you would all communicate with each other in the effective running of the company.

The exercises aren't hard and my own view is that they are more concerned with how you interact with the rest of your group, rather than the groups final solutions.

Don't monopolise the group, but don't be a shrinking violet either.

If you make it through this stage the final stage is more enjoyable.

Interview with psychologist - friendly chat about nothing in particular (don't be too distracted - she's a BABE!!)

Interview with Pilot Manager and someone from personel. Lots of CRM type questions.

eg.

- name a time when you disagreed with Captains decision, how did you handle the situation?

- relationships with cabin crew (not the sworded details)

- how do contribute to your current company's cost effectiveness?

+ other usual interview type questions (large selection of typical questions on BA DEP recruitment forum on PPRUNE)

Sim ride - not sure of curent type that they are now using.

3 departures all the same. You debrief yourself after each one - they are looking for an improvement as you keep repeating the exercise. Finish off with some general handling - height, heading, speed changes. Maybe some holding/tracking.

Training Captains V.helpfull . I know it's easy to say, but don't be nervous and try to enjoy it.

All of the above is from memory and may be very different now, I did it 4 yrs ago and was fortunate enough to get it, and I am still loving it.

Best of luck chaps/chapesses!!!
