For small operations the simple way forward is using large white boards that can be hung in the office. You can simply display as much or as little information as you want and can be wiped over for the next week or month. This is usually the most cost effective method for smaller operators and even today some large operators still use this method. One electronic system which might be of interest is called FOS and was recently purchased by Rockwell Collins.
