Douglas Commuter
Commuter 1926 = 2pChwM; 35hp Anzani or 60hp Wright-Gale; span: 37'3" load: 450# v (60hp): 76. Wooden construction, fabric covering; foldable wings. First airplane to make use of Clark-Y aerofoil, and first Douglas venture in the light aircraft field. POP: 1, c/n 150.
Didn't find it with the aerofoil because spelled it airfoil
(Aerofile's unforgiving search function
), but with
2pChwM "POP: 1" 192
which returned four lines, one of them Douglas ('192' to get all years 1920 -1929, plus some other appearances of 192 alone....
)
Edit to draw your attention to two pertinent facts:
1. Airfoil is supposed to be the American spelling, aerofoil the British one (Aerofiles is of US aircraft)
2. PPRuNe spell checker complains when you type aerofoil.
