Advance knowledge like knowing they might ask you to divide your age by something is not going to help...
I mentioned the highest flight level question because it was more complicated than you'd think. Why? Firstly because it's not a question because you tend to ask yourself and secondly because you now have to locate the trip miles on a flight plan format you're unfamiliar with. VERY distracting.
As for the departure it was NGY 3J in GLA. My bad, it's three VORs and one NDB, not four VORs and 1 NDB. Still, have a look at it if you don't know it. If, like most of us, you never do a raw data departure it's not the easiest one!
Fair point from sharpclassic. I thought the trainer (who was a lovely chap by the way) was just trying to see how much bandwidth we had. Maybe he was tying to see if we'd stand up to ATC instead. Other lesson learned, perhaps.
