MEL had winds of 350/35G42 a while back. Avalon had 45 kts and the houses in MEL aren't built for CAT 3 storms either. Did ya see Mel and Koshy Live from Brighton that night!!
I sure as hell thought my roof was going to come off that night in MEL.
Not to mention Windy Wellington, 40 kts is a slight breeze for them.
