I must say I'm a bit surprised the wind readings are not higher.
Just look at the BOM CNS radar wind updated at 0827 UTC at Flinders Reef ( just about 100 km SSE of the eye ) it's only 102km/h? I would have thought it would be much higher than that considering it's close to the eye.
The 0800 Metar in CNS still shows only 180/6, slowed by the land I guess?
0800 TSV Metar shows 140 27/39
Just thought south of the eye would be more than 102km/h over open water.?
