Mate I've worn a professional aviators uniform ( Airline in this case ) for nearly 30 years with great pride and I always wear my hat!! ( no thanks to the CX Hat Police !!)
So, no I'm not turning up in shorts and thongs as you suggest!!
I'll wear appropriate casual attire but it's not necessary to get " dolled up" in ur uniform to get in, far from it. Anyone could buy a uniform at Skylines, for identification purposes an ASIC proves enough on the day. Remember an ASIC proves you are apart of the Aviation industry, you don't have to be a Pilot to get in to the show.
In my experience every time I've been to the show on trade days I've never once been asked to show anything.
I'm getting a bit sick and tired seeing the 20 yo wanna bees strolling around in full regalia like they're Chuck Yeager
The real experienced Pilots from all forms of Aviation will be walking around quietly minding their own business in casual attire.
So, How about a bit of modesty?
