I spent all of last night flying up and down the coast from Cairns to Brisbane and the feeling was quite strange hearing all those extra flights (Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, Skytrans, Alliance, RFDS, Careflight, RAAF) flying around even in the middle of the night helping evacuate Cairns and Townsville. Hat's go off to all those who pitched in, some called in on their days off, to help in a time of need.
Good luck to all those still in the firing line. I have no doubt many more will also come out to help with the clean up and any further flights required after the cyclone passes.
