Etihad approached me, via an intermediary, a party for whom I'd done some previous contract work (ground based, IT side). The contact was by email, a pleasant and professional note, inviting me to contact the writer (English name) by 'phone, and left a landline number and a GSM number, both in AUH. I tried both numbers, leaving voice messages, over a period of a week, during their business hours, sent several texts to the GSM number, and 2 emails. Nothing.
A week later I had an email from the same person saying that as I had not responded with an expression of interest, they had offered the contract to someone else.
If this is how their HR works .... good luck to anyone who may be applying to them.
