I rode a TRX once, back in the 90's. i remember being underwhelmed with the performance and surprised at how high the headset was (to clear the cylinders).

As I rode a CBR 600 at the time, the performace of the TRX disappointed me.

TRX owners seem to prize their machines highly. Used advertisements show that retained values are high (but it depends on what they get for them at sale)

One point, Ducati riders HATE TRX's. Yamaha's advertising as a "Japanese Ducati" and their copy cat frame means that the boys in red aren't gonna speak to you at all. But that may not be a negative thing.

i hear they tour well and they should be comfortable.

The TRX is definitely not Japanese version of the Ducati, even if it sounds like one with it's 270 degree firing order.

As a tourer it'd be ok.
