employees are so dis-engaged with management because QF is a company they are very passionate about.
My feeling as well. With all the problems of late I still would not hesitate to fly QF, I am convinced 99% of the QF operational staff give it their best shot.
A great example of QF pilot professionalism was indeed demonstrated on the QF32 A380 incident captured on camera for us all to be reminded.

How cool was that announcement? We all know a fair bit more since this famous event unfolded, "there was a lot of stuff going on in the front office to digest that day" the end game, a great result was delivered by QF pilots, again.

For me, still a good reason to not hesitate to fly Q.

As for the criticism of the CCs,
and their service, (here on PPRuNe) every airline suffers complaints .... you only have to read the newspaper travel sections to see complaining is the norm for this industry as possibly the customers expect too much in many cases.

I have found the QF CCs do a good job considering the increasing limitations placed on them over the past few years via management cost cutting programs. To be honest, I fully understand why staff are a little grumpy from time to time and the reasons why, simply put, they are stretched to the limit. They probably feel a little cheated that their value has been eroded in favour of a bonus for a few at the top, hence the dis-engagement at present.

To put it another way, front line staff in airlines always cop the brunt of management decisions, a bit like the staff at the Commonwealth Bank did when the $16 million dollar man Ralph Norris bumped the interest rates up last year.
