RNAV Departures

Hi guys,

Let's talk about RNAV Departures and B737 Classic FMC (or other aircrafts if useful informations will arise!).
Especially flying a B737 Classic with FMC update 5.0 or earlier than 7.4.

You have a BRNAV departure, it's in your database and your airplane and airline are certified BRNAV. Is there any limitation that might prevent the use of that procedure?

You have a RNAV departure, with no specification regarding the RNP (or BRNAV/PRNAV requirements), you are BRNAV. May you fly that procedure?

If i read correct on the Jeppesen introduction (ref Doc8168) you may fly a BRNAV departure if that procedure has the first part based on a conventional navaid. Is that correct?

Hope this thread will be useful and improve our knowledge in RNAV procedures.

Bye!
