im sorry but US history is for a European as myself quite familiar.
Not so long ago, 2/3 of your united states was french as well as the international language.

Concerning the USD,it became in its current role in the mid 1900s replacing tje british pound.
Yes the usd was used after ww2 to lend to some european countries but the us economy quickly evolved towards becoming in debt,having to sell its reserves assets in USD.in 1945 US federal debt was 125% of GDP compared to 50% in 1941...to stay in its role of global currency,the USD must be in deficit (to sell its reserves)otherwise the cash flow in usd will decrease and world economical recovery slow.
Printing bills,a slow us recovery and an ever increasing debt will surely see the usd failing as a global currency..
I believe the united nations(mostly funded by the USA),recently suggested that global trading should be less and less in USD) until mid 21st when another currency could be used....
